Maximillian is a truly adorable old boy everybody loves him - he is just that sort of big cuddly bear! He is a large Steiff bear standing at 20" (50cm) he has the honey blonde mohiar of the 1940s Steiff bears and a really old look to him, raised script button in ear. . He is in really good clean old condition with an endearing expression. His eyes are glass, his nose threads have had some added stitches to them, his felt pads are original with some darns and some age discolouration. his old tilt growler long since stopped working, he has gentle age wear to his mohiar in places - he looks old now but he is a really strong bear who we adore he is highly recommended.  He now looks for someone to love him applications please!!  Email us for his photo file..

'Mirage' Rare large White Steiff bear with button in ear, and paper chest label 1950s

Mirage is an truly breathaking old Steiff Bear she is a large size 20" (50cm) tall, with white mohair, glass eyes, she is fully jointed and a really adorable Steiff. She still has her paper chest label, raised script button in ear and remains of yellow cloth stock label.   Some gentle age wear to her mohair enough to give her character, her pads have few small holes and light darns to them, growler no longer works as is so common with Steiff. She is very clean from a non smoking home (as are all our bears) and a non smoking past. She is wonderful and comes highly recommended.

She is shown in one photo with another new bear for sale 'Hansel'  he is a caramel colour and against him you can really see her colour.

'Matie' is a simply enchanting large old girl who is well loved but still a very strong old bear with a very appealing face. She has a button in ear (raised script), glass eyes, and has had her pads recovered a long time ago thes ones now show signs of age and wear. She is a very large bear staning at 20" tall, she is fully jointed, some wear to her mohair fur overall which shows she is really a very well cuddled old antique Steiff bear Overall about 60% remaining, her tilt growler still works very well. one claw stitch broken. She comes wearing her antique dress and jacket with vintage necklace which are all in very good clean old condition.

PEACHIE - Very unusual Peachie coloured Steiff 

Peachie is a very unusual small steiff bear having mohair fur that has a definate peachie tone to it. she is not white and she is not caramel or gold/blonde. The nearest in her colour are the early mask steiff bears that sometimes were a peachie colour if you know them her fur looks the same but my camera cannot capture the colour!! It is a pale colour whitish but with a distinct peachie tone.  Her height is 9" - 23cm approx. she has glass eyes, a working squeaker, felt pads are excellent she is in very good old condition few faint marks to them,  c.1950s a very striking bear I have never seen a bear this colour before.  Photo file available on request. She comes wearing her antique peach coloured gown.

'BENSON'  SOLD

SUPERB 1950s STEIFF BEAR WITH BUTTON IN EAR

Benson is a fabulous VGC Steiff Bear with raised script button in ear. He is 14" - 36cm tall, with long paws a long muzzle and big feet all the characteristics we love about Steiff bears. He is fully jointed with glass eyes. He is in VGC being in unplayed with condition his mohair is excellent, he is all original with an adorable face. He has a tilt growler and this works very well. He is very clean and a lovely bear who will enchant his new owner. 

Anastasia is an absolutely superb c.1950s Steiff bear with raised script button in ear.  She is in very good condition for her age in well above usual condition with still an excellent thick fluffy covering of mohair fur. She has glass eyes, original stitched nose, mouth and claws. Her felt pads are original felt and very good for age with some disclouration. her tilt growler works very well she is a talkative bear. This is a substantial large Steiff bear with a beautiful golden coat she is fabulous. She has a distinct hump on her back, long curving hand arms, and big feet, and has a really beautiful face. Slight wear to mohair around her muzzle face to back of heels but overall this beauty still has about 95% mohair which is rare to find. She comes highly recommended.

'Hannah'

 Hannah is a 16" old golden mohair Steiff bear with button in ear from the 1950s, she is an adorable bear whose tilt growler still works well. She has glass eyes, original felt pads with a few small holes, original nose, mouth and claw stitching. she is fully jointed. still has a good covering of mohair with some age wear of mohair  to her face, and really all over with about 70% overall still remaining a well loved but very strong old girl. who comes wearing her very old gown c.1960s in really good clean old condition.   She is a really lovely character. 

'LouLou Belle' is an adorable loved old Steiff bear from the 1950s a rare larger size of 17" she has her button in ear and comes wearing her very old gown with lace collar and old metal/diamonte stones brooch.   A very sweet enchanting bear who now looks for a new home.

Heinrich is a superb really adorable old c.1950s Steiff bear with button in ear. He is a large old boy standing at 20" (50cm) approximately. His tilt growler still works like new he is a very talkative bear indeed! He has the look of earlier bears with  a very long muzzle for the era. He has glass eyes. original nose, mouth, claw stitching (with a few broken threads on his nose but that just adds to his charm. Raised script button in ear, His felt pads have been replaced and have some darned repairs. His caramel mohair is very good for age and with some age wear to the usual places -  his heels and around feet, around his seams, on his arms from being loved and held over the years, around his muzzle and on head, fur settledment to backs of his legs for sitting for 50 years.   His name loosely means 'strong ruler' he is a bear with real personality who will enchant his new owner.

'AMELIA' C.1950s large 20" Steiff Bear with button in ear.

Amelia is a very pretty sweet faced old large Steiff bear she is 20" tall, fully jointed with glass eyes. She has a button in ear and is a well loved but strong old girl who comes wearing her very old gown. Amelia has overall gentle age wear to her mohair fur, and settlement of the inner woodwool in one arm from being held (her arm is not damaged its just where her wood wool inside has settled over the years making it less firm and rigid than when she was new) she has a few small stitched repairs to her her felt pads. Her growler no longer works, she is a slouchy bear who just loves to relax in any pose she is put in.   This blonde mohair bear is very clean and in a hard to find larger size she is just adorable and now looks for a new home.her old gown has some age wear and staining but is good for its age.

FREDREICK Rare large 43cm Steiff USA Zone

For sale is this rare brown mohair old Steiff bear with remains of USA Zone label in his arm which dates him to between 1947-1952. He has a 40s small pewter type metal button in ear with all of his yellow cloth stock label though ean now faded from view.  He is fully jointed with glass eyes and has the longer body of the earlier bears. He is a loved old boy with overall age wear to his mohair but it has retained its dark original colour well.

'Lennie' & 'Lettie'

'SHADOW' C. 1950s Rare huge Stieff bear with raised script button in ear.

Just in and ready to be rehomed is this fabulous huge old Steiff Bear with button in ear and remains of yellow stock tag.  This is a truly magnificent bear and quite outstanding in his massive stature!! He stands a whopping 25" (65cm) he is fully jointed with glass eyes, he has the very long muzzle of the earlier steiff bears, and has original nose, mouth, claw stitching, his tilt growler works well. Overall the old boy is in really good condition for his age his pads are original with some age staining but really good for age. he has woodwool stuffing and is everything you would wish for in such a big steiff. His mohair coverage is very good for age with about 90% overall remaining with some loss on his forhead, around his ankles. and at seams, fur settles where he has sat for so long. slight age discolouration to his mohair in places, he is really good strong condition in a rare size.

'CAPTAIN'
 is an adorable c.1950s large German Steiff teddy bear standing at 20 inches he is a big bear, He is a really fluffy bear and a very talkative one with a very vocal tilt growler.  He has glass eyes with some crazing to the brown paint at the back which makes one of his eyes appear cracked it it not and is a common occurance with steiff bears.  His nose, mouth, claw stitching is all original, his felt pads are originall with a couple of small holes and some age marks discolouration on them but still good for age.  He is fully jointed with a large steiff button in ear in raised script and part of his yellow stock label now unreadable.   He has a wonderful face and really good mohair coverage for his age with some age thinning in places and in the usual ones like around his ankles and where his big feet brush against each other the fur has worn off, around his nose, on his chest, some age fur discolouration on his back on the left side and slightly under his left arm from exposure to the light over the years again ofton seen in bears especially darker coloured ones. His fur coverage is about 90% which is really good for such a big old bear.  He has spoon shaped paws, huge feet and a hump on his back he truly is a wonderful old Steiff bear in a hard to find larger size. He comes with his old wooden horse toy on wheels.

a big talkative old boy with very dark caramel fur seems more brown, glass eyes, raised script button, original felt pads. some wear to his mohair on head overall 90% remaining a lovely bear. original felt pads couple of marks but really good for his age.

'HELGA' 13" Steiff no button £150

Unusual example looks c.1940s but has non safety eyes so c.1950s-60s, long arms a really pretty bear. felt pads are original some age discolouration. Tilt growler now just a cough! mohair fur. some age discolouration around his muzzle, some age wear to mohair around his feet, heels, muzzle.

'MARTA' 9" Steiff with button in ear and chest label £225

Very pretty and good example of a c.1950s Steiff bear, her pads are original very good, non working squeaker, mohair fur, glass eyes. hard to find in such nice condition in this size.

'AMMIE' 8" Steiff bear with button £120

Really sweet 1950s Steiff bear whose caramel mohair fur now has age faded to a silvery colour. glass eyes, non working squeaker, gentle all over age wear to her mohair. pads are a material seen used after ww2 so shes certainly an early bear.

A very adorable large 17"old Steiff bear c.1950s with button in ear, this wonderful bear is the rarer larger size of 17" (43cm) she has glass eyes and a very old look to her with still excellent mohair coverage. her tilt growler works but now with a little encouragement sometimes. her felt pads are good for age she is a lovely bear with slight mohair loss around her muzzle and some age discolouration, some wear around her heels and feet, at seams really all the usual places and just enough to show she really is a very old bear and not a new bear.

CAT FLU

I hope Busters story will give hope to other people who have kittens or cats who get cat flu. They can survive and be fine here is Busters story.

BUSTER

Buster as a young kitten developed full blown cat flu as a rescue kitten he had not had his injections to protect him from this virus.

He was so ill as a young kitten you could hear him breathing he was as bad as it could get really. Tigger my other kitten also had cat flu but recovered much more quickly with just one round of antibiotics. As you can see from the photo of Buster he was very ill. He needed a lot of TLC and a few courses of antibiotics to get well with eye drops each day. It is so important that they have this medicine asap and eye drops or they can go blind.
don't believe they are beyond hope they are not, and with warmth, TLC and medicine they can and do recover totally.

I was told Buster could be ill all his life but this was not so, he has grown strong through the summer and autumn and (touch wood) has now had his annual boosters and is not ill with this virus.

If you are in doubt - give the cats or kittens a chance of life and get them medicine asap, with warmth and love you can end up with a cat who will love you until his dying day because they know you saved them.

Seek vetinary help Urgently & ASAP is my best advice and don't believe all the horror stories cats and kittens can and do survive cat flu. My cats were diagnosed with full blown cat flu and are both now healthy adult cats.

The CPL were hugely helpful as well and are a great organisation for rehoming cats and helping with them (the cats protection league).

Act quickly to get them vetinary attention when they are obviously ill as time makes the difference between life and death for them, keep them warm this is like our having pneumonia. My cats are now full of fun and life and repay my care a 100 fold!!
