\u2018MAXIMUS\u2019 AN OUTSTANDING LARGE 26\u201d 1950\u2019S STEIFF BEAR WITH BUTTON & TAGS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maximus is a very rare, outstanding example of a large old Steiff bear from the late 1950\u2019s.  With a standing height of 26\u201d (67cm) he is magnificent.  He has a long muzzle, long tapering hand paws, and large feet.  He is without doubt one of the very best large Steiff bears we have had over the years in this size and colour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 He has been carefully stored from new, and so has kept his original light brown colouring. (Classed as caramel by Steiff)  His mohair is thick and curly and in amazing condition for his age.  He has glass eyes, a stitched nose, mouth and claws.  His tilt growler still works well.  He has his Steiff button in ear with yellow stock label. This has his Steiff stock EAN number on it which is faint now but still visible. 5365:02. His felt paw pads are original and very good condition.  He has wood wool stuffing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around his neck is his original Steiff ribbon.  He also still has his original card Steiff chest tag. This is now worn, and frayed with age, but has been repaired taped to preserve it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is very clean, is from a smoke-free home.\u00a0 He is one for the collector of the finest old Steiff bears.
