‘MARGRETA’ SUPERB RARE, c.1950s STEIFF BEAR WITH BUTTON IN EAR & STOCK LABEL
This is a very special and rare old Steiff bear we owned before so we knowthe history of this adorable bear. As she came to us from her original owner. She was with us for some time, before going overseas for a while. She is now back with us as her owner needed to downsize. We were delighted to have this beautiful bear to offer, as she is so very special.
Margreta is a very pretty, and rare large size old Steiff bear from the late 1950’s. She is such a very impressive bear, with a standing height of 25” (65cm). She still has her large Steiff button in ear (raised script, thin letters) and yellow stock label. Her EAN Number is still readable 5365:02, which dates her to being made between 1958-1966. Her ribbon is original.
She has thick fluffy mohair fur, glass eyes, a working tilt growler, and wood wool stuffing. She has a stitched nose, mouth and claws. Her mohair colour is a light brown (classed as ‘caramel’) Overall, for her age and size she is in superb condition and is rarely found still with a stock label. With minimal mohair loss, slight age fading, as to be expected with a genuinely very old Steiff bear. And a few marks on her feet felt paw pads, which are original, so again this is to be expected for her age.
NB. We also have her brother for sale ‘Sebastian’, he is older and has a different shade of mohair.
