RARE LARGE ORIGINAL 1960S ‘CHEEKY BEAR’ 26″, BY MERRYTHOUGHT WITH LABEL
Rare original 1960s ‘Cheeky Bear’ by Merrythought. He still has his original Merrythought label on his paw pad. He is fully jointed, 26″ tall (65cm) standing up, With mohair plush fur, glass eyes, the adorable Cheeky smile! He is the hard to find, PJ Case version with zip on his back. His zip works well and the inner lining is good with no rips. He has his bell in each ear.
For his age, Overall he is in very very good condition for such an old Cheeky. (it’s hard to believe he is around 70 years old!) Just his fur that has faded over the years, more in some areas than others. He is priced to reflect this and is a very sought-after and hard to find bear. An iconic childhood bear of the 1960s when these bears were hugely popular with children. ADOPTED
‘CLOUD’ OLD LARGE FARNELL BEAR 30″ 1950s-60s
Cloud is an adorable large old Farnell bear made after WW2 in the woolly plush fur often used by this maker as mohair was in short supply He has their distinctive light-colour rexine paw pads and wide nose stitching. He is an impressive fully jointed bear, standing at 30” (75cm) Original panda-type eyes black felt with early realistic plastic eyes. His rexine paw pads have mostly worn now to the backing (another typical trait of this maker and this type of rexine) but the pads are intact just have some age marks. With some age discolouration to his fur to be expected with his light colouring. This design and type of Farnell was popular and made in the 1950s and 1960s. (Over the years we have had this type of bear with labels by Farnell and their later companies -Twyford & Action Toycraft) This bear no longer has a label. ‘GOLDIBEAR’ 1960s FARNELL BEAR WITH LABEL
Goldibear is a lovely example of a mohair bear by Farnell in the early 1960s. He is fully jointed with early plastic realistic eyes. His height standing is 20” (50cm) he has his famous maker label on his chest seam (some age wear but still readable) Few lost nose stitches, his paw pads have been professionally replaced, squeaker no longer works. For his age, his mohair is good with just some wear around his muzzle and on his forehead. He is very clean, from a smoke-free home. Email for his photo file £120
‘PINK’ ALPHA FARNELL VINTAGE BEAR LTD EDT WITH TAGS
Pink is a very beautiful vintage Alpha Farnell limited edition bear by Merrythought. She still has her swing tags attached and side labels. A limited edition 105/750. Her mohair is thick and beautiful more a shade of cream with a hint of baby pink. She has the Alpha distinctive nose and claw stitching. With webbed hand paws, and a working tummy squeaker. Coco-pops is an adorable vintage Alpha Farnell limited edition 94/750 by Merrythought. He is fully jointed, with very fluffy Alpaca fur. Cherry is a super cute vintage Merrythought Magnet bear with box & certificate in mint condition from 2000. She is fully jointed with pretty dark pink mohair fur, standing height 10″ (25cm) has her tags attached. Comes in a lovely gift box. Mint condition unplayed with, box very minor signs of wear. Adorable vintage Pooh Bear by Merrythought. This adorable bear has mohair fur, is fully jointed with flat reinforced feet so he can stand all by himself (well almost!!) He is 12″ (30cm) tall. In very good condition he is unplayed with. Has his maker’s swing tags and a cloth tag. He comes wearing his felt jacket with popper fastening. Snuggles is a very appealing vintage PJ Case bear by Merrythought. He is made in the old style, unjointed with blonde mohair fur, felt paw pads, and realistic plastic eyes.
