Zarinah is a very rare large old early 1950s Steiff bear with button in ear. This fabulous old Steiff is a very rare find in this condition. Very seldom seen are Steiff in this large size and with the early body shape. She has a magnificent standing height of 29″ (75cm) She has thick golden mohair fur, glass eyes, original felt paw pads. She has her Steiff button in ear (raised script, thin letters) and her yellow stock label. Her EAN number is still readable 5375:2 dates her to being made between 1950-1958. Even her tilt growler still works.
She is certainly a bear for the collector of very special, rare heirloom Steiff bears. A bear to treasure for a lifetime and pass to future generations. Very few of these beautiful bears are seen on the market, few have survived. They would have been a very expensive bear when first purchased.
Overall she is in really good original condition for her age and size. She has some faint age marks to her felt paw pads. Her fur being so old has some age discolouration in places and her fur has a little ‘old bear’ odour ( to be expected for her age and being in original condition) She is from a smoke free home past – she is just very old now. Her leg joints are a bit creaky but then she is a big girl with big joints. She is just a bit stiff from a lot of sitting. We have been really hard on her as please look at her photos… she is an absolute beauty. Who is in way above average condition, and better than many we have had over the years..
