‘MIDAS’ A VERY RARE LARGE 25″ OLD EARLY 1950’S STEIFF BEAR WITH BUTTON IN EAR
Midas is a very rare, large 25″ (65cm) early 1950’s Steiff bear. With a large raised script Steiff button in ear. She is the most adorable, pretty bear who has been very well cared for over the years. With an excellent coverage of mohair fur, and original felt paw pads. Very hard to find this beautiful golden mohair Steiff bear from this time in such a large impressive size.
These magnificent Steiff would have been an expensive purchase when new. A special purchase that could only have been afforded by a few so soon after the end of WW2. She has an early look to her with her long muzzle and appearance. She has glass eyes, a stitched nose, mouth and claws, wood wool stuffing. Her growler you can still hear if you gently tap her back or when she sits down at times.
She is such a wonderful, special old Steiff bear in a seldom seen size and colour. Few of these large size old Steiff bears remain and they are not often seen for sale. She is a really lovely character with the most beautiful face. It is hard to believe she is over 70 years old. She is highly recommended, she is enchanting.
